GTA VI release date and platforms
Ажурирано: 2026-08-13 · на енглеском
In short
Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date and the platforms come from Rockstar Games itself and have not changed since.
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026.
Why this date is worth trusting
GTA VI has had another date before: it was announced for 2025, then delayed. So any number around this release deserves care — but the current one differs from the earlier ones in a simple way: it is on the game’s official page right now, rather than mentioned once in an earnings call or an interview.
The place to re-check it is the same place we do: Rockstar’s own page for the game. Everything else is a retelling, and retellings sometimes lag.
Current-generation consoles only
Two platforms are announced:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are not on the list. That is expected: the previous generation launched in 2013, and GTA V began its life there instead.
Nothing has been announced about a PC version. Not “there won’t be one” — simply not announced, and those are different things. There is a separate piece on that, because it is asked more often than anything else.
What happens before release
The next event is already set: on August 27, 2026 Rockstar promises an extended look at the game. The announcement appeared on August 6, making it the first major beat since pre-orders opened.
Two trailers are available on the official page today. There is no third one — if you have seen “GTA VI trailer 3”, it is either about the upcoming showing or somebody’s edit.
How long is left
The countdown to November 19, 2026 sits on the home page. We count it from UTC midnight rather than your device clock: otherwise the same site would show different numbers in Tokyo and Los Angeles, and that number should be the same for everyone.
