What is next for GTA VI: the extended look on 27 August and release on 19 November

Two announced events stand between now and Grand Theft Auto VI, and Rockstar named both of them. The nearer one is the extended look, less than a week away.

The showcase airs twice

The main thing to know about 27 August: there are two airings, and that is not a slip. Netflix premieres it first; six hours later the same video appears on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and on the official game page.

The difference matters. Netflix is a paid service and is not available everywhere; the second window is free and open to everyone. If you have no subscription, missing the first one costs you nothing — you will see exactly the same video, only later.

What is known about the release

The release date is 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It has stood since the last official confirmation and has not moved.

What the calendar does not contain

A PC version is not among the announced dates. Rockstar has said nothing about it: no date, no intention, no refusal. Anything you read about PC timing is someone’s guess, not an announcement. What is actually known is in the PC version.

The same goes for the content of the showcase itself: Rockstar named the format (“an extended look”) and the time, but not what it will show. There is nowhere to get specifics before the evening of 27 August.
